About Massage...

Massage has been practiced for thousands of years and benefits the client both physically and psychologically. The treatment manipulates the soft tissue of the body, producing heat and stimulating the muscular, vascular and nervous system.

Massage is a natural method by which minor aches and pains can be soothed away while bringing relief from stress, tension, and fatigue. The effects of massage differ from one client to another depending on the needs of the individual and the goals and intentions with which the massage is administered. Many healthy people believe that frequent massage helps them to remain physically, mentally, and emotionally fit.

Therapeutic effects of massage include general relaxation, increased metabolism through improved circulation; an injury heals more quickly, and improves the detoxifying functions of the lymphatic system.

Aromatherapy Massage

 FULL BODY 60 min - £45

Aromatherapy treatments can help relieve the symptoms of a variety of conditions and of course it is an extremely   relaxing form of treatment as well. When you combine massage with the healing powers of essential oils the results can be outstanding.
Aromatherapy is currently one of the most popular complementary therapies in the 21st century; it literally means “healing through the senses”.
Aromatherapy is the ancient science of healing, relaxing and energizing the mind, body and spirit through the use of pure essential oils.  It is a holistic treatment which can have a profound effect on both the physical and emotional levels to improve one’s general state of health and wellbeing.
Essential oils taken from plants and used in Aromatherapy have been described as their 'life force' - they are essential to the plants' biological process, as well as being the substance which gives them their scent.  Synthetic oils, even if chemically similar, will lack all the natural elements, and that vital life-force, that make essential oils so valuable.

Deep Tissue Massage

BACK, NECK & SHOULDER 30min - £28

FULL BODY 60 min - £48

Deep tissue massage is similar to Swedish massage but is used to target knots and release chronic muscle tension.  Other benefits include reducing inflammation and helping to eliminate scar tissue.  The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).
Deep tissue massage uses strokes across the grain of the muscles, not with the grain as in Swedish massage.  The more intense movements and techniques such as deep finger pressure may be slightly uncomfortable and cause soreness that lasts a couple of days before resulting in the desired relaxation and pain relief.

It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested as part of a regular stress management programme.
